YWCA Lower Cape Fear

Board of Directors

The YWCA Lower Cape Fear is honored to have an amazing group of women that willingly give their time and energy to improve the lives of women, children and families in our community. Our Board of Directors steadfastly guide us in our efforts and support the YWCA's Mission of eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, dignity and freedom for all.

YWCA Board Members are responsible for setting the overall policies of the organization to be certain they reflect our commitment to the YWCA Mission of empowering women and eliminating racism. The Board also helps raise funds to support the work of the agency and manages all YWCA assets. According to the national and local YWCA by-laws, only women can serve on the Board of Directors. Board Members attend approximately 10 board meetings each year, and work on at least one committee or sub-committee, whose work involves 2-4 hours per month.

Are YOU a community-minded woman who embodies and practices the objectives of the YWCA’s Mission?
If you answered yes, then we want you to become a YWCA Board Member

The YWCA thanks the many women who, throughout our history, have served on our Board of Directors. Without these determined and dedicated volunteers, our work would not be possible.
