Level Up Business Conference & Pitch Competition
YWCA’s Living the Dream Center for Entrepreneurship presents “Level Up! Women’s Small Business Conference and Pitch Competition,” an event of networking, education and supporting entrepreneurs in the Lower Cape Fear. This in-person conference and pitch competition provides opportunities for women entrepreneurs to connect, strategize and grow.
Memorial Day Ice Cream Social at the Pool
On Memorial Day from 1pm-3pm YWCA Aquatics Staff is hosting an ice cream social for all ages. The day will include ice cream, pool games for all ages facilitated by YWCA Lifeguards and enjoyable music. Preregistration is required with limited tickets available.
Juneteenth Pizza Party at the YWCA Pool
On Juneteenth from 1pm-3pm YWCA Aquatics Staff is hosting a Pizza Party for all ages. The day will include pizza, drinks, pool games for all ages facilitated by YWCA Lifeguards and enjoyable music. Preregistration is required with limited tickets available.
July 4th Hot Dog Social at the YWCA Pool
On July 4th from 1pm-3pm YWCA Aquatics Staff is hosting a hot dog pool party for all ages. The day will include hot dogs on the grill, pool games for all ages facilitated by YWCA Lifeguards and enjoyable music. Preregistration is required with limited tickets available.
Labor Day Root Beer Float - and Float at the Pool Day

Until Justice Just Is: Swim Against Racism
The YWCA Aquatics Program is proud to host a 1 mile, ½ mile and 500 yard distance swim meet challenging swimmers to their personal best time or to simply set the goal to complete one of these distances.
Until Justice Just Is: Conversations For Peace
Until Justice Just Is: Conversations for Peace is a quarterly event hosted under our Advocacy & Racial Justice programming that brings together a diverse group of people in an effort to impact peaceful change in our community through food, fellowship, and enriching dialogue. The goal was to create a powerful conversation about change, acceptance, and awareness. Through this event, we are furthering our advocacy and racial justice work to continue to propel our mission forward.
Our next Conversations for Peace will be a continuation of our October theme in discussing gun violence in our communities with an emphasis on solutions and building the bridge to equity. We will be showing the film “Murders That Matter” by Marco Williams. Following the viewing, will be a guided discussion on how we as community members can move forward with change in our community.

Reading For Justice: A Book Club Hosted by the YWCA
In today's world, it is more important than ever to educate ourselves on issues of social justice and equality. One way to do this is through reading books that tackle these important topics. That's why we have established the Reading for Justice Book Club. Reading For Justice meetings are held every other month and focus on reading and discussing books related to social justice.
Reading books about social justice allows us to gain a deeper understanding of the issues at hand. These books often provide different perspectives and shed light on experiences that we may not have personally encountered. They also allow us to empathize with others and become more aware of our own biases and privileges. By reading and discussing these books, we can become more informed and better equipped to take action towards creating a more just and equitable society.
In April, we will be discussing The Secret Life of Sunflowers, by Marta Molnar.

Empowering Maternal Health: Shaping Policy for Change
The Health Summit brings together healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers, and advocates to discuss issues related to maternal health and the policies surrounding it.
The Health Summit features keynote speakers and panel discussions on a variety of topics including reproductive justice, bodily autonomy, and access to healthcare. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from experts, share their experiences, and network with community members.
The Health Summit aims to increase awareness of the challenges and disparities marginalized communities face when it comes to maternal health and access to healthcare, and identify strategies to shape policy for change.
